Greenwich Village, NYC
The Minetta Tavern has a very well known eatery in New York; their black label burger is famous. On my last trip to New York i went there to get said burger.
Along with the black label burger (I added cheddar) I ordered the duck hash and a side of their bacon because it was technically breakfast. The wait was a quick one, the food hit the table and I went straight into the burger.
The burger was served medium rare but perfectly charred outside; topped with their caramelized onions and melted cheddar. It was amazing, all the flavours just combining into fantastic mouthfuls. The bun did get slightly soggy as the patty was large and juicy.
Next up the duck hash, now this was a surprising dish; I liked the sound of it and ordered it and was not disappointed, a crispy and tender duck that was served seasoned and flavoured to perfection. Every bite was heaven.
Lastly the bacon, it was overdone and slightly disappointing.
The meal overall was fantastic and I will be going back for the duck hash at some point on my next visit.
