Bar Italia – Little Italy, TO

Bar Italia
Little Italy, Toronto

I don’t usually eat lunch (brunch isn’t lunch) out; I mean it’s hard enough always eating dinner out; one particular day however, I wasn’t feeling any sort of brunch food, I was feeling gnocchi in a super-rich tomato sauce, wanting that I headed to Bar Italia to check it out.

Unfortunately the kitchen hadn’t finished prepping the gnocchi; disappointing I know but I was there for pasta, so that’s what I ended up getting,
They put together a couple of dishes for us, basically just tell them what you want is the pasta and they’ll make it.

To start we went with their antipasto platter, a great way to start with a bunch of different types of meats and cheeses; the combinations worked so well and the added pickles were dynamite.

I chose my pasta and decided that I was going to go super simple; a pancetta, garlic, cheese pasta with olive oil. Minimalistic, flavourful and altogether delicious.

Bar Italia hit the nail on the head for a simple, quaint and delicious pasta meal, made thoroughly enjoyable by the manager at the bar who was a pleasure.
